Anyone get their sleeve February 2019

Recommended Posts

Congrats! How are you doing so far? I had mine on 2/7. It's nice to connect with people who had surgery around the same time. It's good to go through this journey with others who understand.
I'm still struggling with quite a bit of pain. How are you drinking your Water? My husband says I am gulping air when drinking out of a regular cup, but I'm not sure how else I should be drinking?

I stopped pain meds also, I was afraid of the addictive aspects so I just dealt with it as much as I could. Walking around/moving really really helped

I’m on the phase 2 diet as of today. I’m past the really bad gas stage, but it was awful when it was going on. I’m beginning to feel better. It seems like I may have turned a corner, I really hope so!

I agree Paula. I just stumbled across this site and am glad I did.

Hi. I had mine February 11th. How are you doing so far?
I had mine February 4th! Things are going okay...still feel as though I'm not sure what I'm doing health-wise...but I'm a worrier...so it may be nothing. I am on the puree stage and still in pain. But 27 lbs down. Just need to get my activity up! How are you??

Congrats on your 27 lbs! That's amazing1! I just started puree stage yesterday too. Every so far is making me nauseous. I'm down 11 lbs. I shouldn't be disappointed wit that, but I am. I think I understand why the worrying. This is a huge opportunity to get healthy and an investment in ourselves.

Day 4 post op. Doing great aside from not being able to get Protein Shakes down. Not even half, maybe 1/3. Also, has anyone experienced some tension in the esophagus after sipping? No sure what that could be...

Sounds like gas? Are you drinking from a water bottle? I had the same pain the last 3 days then I switched to a cup and made sure I wasn't breathing as I was drinking. I feel much better now. I can get in about 1.5 Protein Shakes (but it does take most of the day).

I have been drinking from a bottle. However, I'm gonna give your way a try... Are you sipping from a cup? Seems like its difficult for me to sip without air getting in.

Yeah I'm sipping from a cup now. But I take a full breath and exhale before I drink so I don't get in as much air.

I had my surgery on 2/19 . Getting better but recovery is a bit more difficult. Getting in the recommended amount of fluids has been a challenge
Everything I've read so far has said not to stress the amount of fluids you're getting in right now. Make sure you're drinking enough Water to not get dehydrated. Do what you can without causing yourself discomfort.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
