I’m hoping for an April date as well. Fingers crossed. Anyone have Kaiser in this group? Curious to see how fast date was received after class and psych evaluation. Thanks!

Hello April buddies! I’m planning on having gastric bypass. haven’t had my surgery date scheduled yet, but am hoping for an April date. I’ve done all the labs, tests, psych evaluation and two nutrition visits. Last things on my list are EGD and 3rd nutrition visit before sending off for approval.

Throughout the process, I’ve been diagnosed with severe sleep apnea, insulin resistance and hypertension. These are all issues I was fairly aware of and just kept putting off testing until this year. Hope everyone has a smooth journey!

I just bought fair life Protein Shakes to try one of each and I also bought the elite core which has 42 g of Protein but 11 g of carbs going to try those this week, I also bought the protein Water, don’t know if I will like them I’m not a big fan of flavored water, so we’ll see!

Where’d you find the fair life Protein Shakes? I’d like to buy some .
I found them at BJ's warehouse the other day. Didn't buy them but it was under $20 for a pack of 12 (don't remember cost exactly). It's about the same as Premier Protein at $18 for 12.

I am going to ask if I can buy my own shakes but on the papers it says that everyone goes on Bariatric Advantage for 2 weeks before:( I do hope that I can buy my own but I am not holding breath on it.. I will have to adjust and figure it out for 2 weeks one way or another. I just think this will be the hardest part for me..

Hey... I’m hoping for an April date but I won’t know until another week or so. I’m so excited, anxious, & ready to take this new step. Finding this forum is the best. I’ve read so much and learned so much.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
