I have read that some people used liquid Tylenol vs the prescription pain medicine. Did you just buy a lot of children's liquid? For the right dosage that seems like you could go thru several bottles in days. Did you purchase an adult/stronger dosage? If so where from? Is it a prescription?

Also, I tend to get very nauseous. Did you take an over the counter or prescription? Was it a liquid or suppository?

I was told to take the liquid Tylenol post surgery. It can be bought over the counter. It does come in an adult strength. I bought the Tylenol in a generic form. The bottle says 500mg per 15ml. I was told to take 30ml every 6- 8 hours as needed. Your dosage could be different than mine. Please ask your surgeon for the right dosage for you. I had no issues with it and it did relieve my pain.

I bought both liquid and tablet Tylenol. I didn’t end up using the liquid bc there was high fructose corn Syrup and was afraid of dumping. So I just broke the tablets and swallowed with Water. You’re able to take medications m&m size or smaller.

I bought the children's liquid Tylenol and the adult liquid Tylenol. Take it from someone who has been there, DON'T buy the children's version; it's sickly sweet; it tastes like straight up sugar, which isn't great right after the surgery. Go for the regular adult liquid Tylenol. I took that and had no problems.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
