Hi all! What are your favorite Snacks? I get hungry around 3pm and have been having string cheese, turkey pepperoni, and deli meat but am getting burnt out on having the same snack everyday. I'm almost 6 weeks out and am on regular foods. What are your go-to snacks? Thanks in advance!

I have different types of cheeses (string, colby/cheddar stick, mini babybel, and (my favorite) some fancy cheddar with some red pepper in it)

Almonds (sometimes I roast them, like this: https://www.paleorunningmomma.com/chipotle-roasted-almonds-paleo-vegan/)

Milk (sometimes with cocoa powder and stevia, like a hot chocolate)

Yogurt, cottage cheese

Parm crisps (fairly rare, but nice for the crunch) (sometimes with a bit of guac or hummus)

Veg with hummus (usually carrots or bell peppers)

Have a Protein Shake. They help me a lot.

I usually have a Protein Shake in the morning so I try to mix it up in the afternoon. I'm not a huge fan of Protein Shakes, so I try to limit it to one a day.

Thanks for these ideas! I love almonds and kind of forgot about them since I haven't been able to eat them in so long. I'll definitely be adding some of these to my grocery list.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
