NH1 16 Posted February 14, 2019 Hi all, I’m looking for some advice on how long from surgery you went from liquids to mush? I’m nine days post op, the pain has settled, but I now have terrible insomnia. It’s sometimes five or six am before I drift off. I’ve tolerated fluids well & not a single episode of vomiting. My consultant has said mush after two week, did anyone try it sooner? Thanks in advance
GradyCat 3,695 Posted February 14, 2019 No, I was on liquids three weeks post-op before going to soft mushy foods.

Lamermaid 65 Posted February 14, 2019 I had my gastric bypass surgery on Jan 29th. I was told not to go to mush until 14 days after the date of release. So far chobani yogurt and maltomeal are what I can handle. I don't like broth or Soups so I don't know what to eat. Good luck and God bless 1 NH1 reacted to this
CurvyMom 386 Posted February 15, 2019 I switched on day 8 to purée and then 5 days later to soft foods where I am now and will be for a month or so yet. But some soft foods are better than others and I am taking my time adding in different things. 1 NH1 reacted to this
NH1 16 Posted February 17, 2019 I’m 12 days post op tomorrow. I’ve stuck to my liquids & I’ve decided that tomorrow will be my last liquid day...I’m feeling good & glad I remained longer on thick liquids.
