First Gas? How long

I had my surgery yesterday (Tuesday feb 12) and still haven’t passed any gas and it’s almost 11pm on Wednesday. Couple minor very painful short burps but nothing else. Did anyone else take this long ?

Yes I had my surgery on Feb 6th and it took me a couple of days to be able to release any gas, and the build-up was giving me a lot of pain. By Day 5 I'd say I felt a lot better gas-wise, and when you start having bowel movements that helps a lot

You may try a stool softener, I was given Colace, it could be a coincidence, but soon after I was able to pass gas.

Try chewable Gas-x over the counter .. it helped me so much!
