bariutiful 72 Posted February 14, 2019 Is that a pill?
GradyCat 3,695 Posted February 14, 2019 Smell some rubbing alcohol. That's what they did for me in the hospital. Or suck on a peppermint disc.

bariutiful 72 Posted February 14, 2019 Thank you guys! I will try both .. I’m one week out and I have so much nausea, I feel like throwing up but I haven’t. It makes me not want to eat anything.. even the smell of food makes me feel sick
DanaC84 1,116 Posted February 14, 2019 My dr gave me a script for zofran before I was even discharged. If the OTC doesn’t do the trick I’d consider calling your surgeon. 1 ErinshayWV reacted to this
Wickedwinner 140 Posted February 14, 2019 Zofran is great because it doesn’t make you drowsy like the others. Also breathe through your mouth until the nausea passes. Slow breathes. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

It helps me a lot or you can cut a lemon in half and squeeze some of the juice in your mouth, or lick on it (weird I know LOL) I get that from my mom, I keep it in a small ziplock bag in my purse. Chrisb428 626 Posted February 14, 2019 I ended up needing zofran as well. The peppermint tea is the only thing that kept me from not being dehydrated. The sight or smell of anything made me gag! 2 DanaC84 and jg7979 reacted to this
bariutiful 72 Posted February 14, 2019 I’m going to need to try Zofran and the lemon didn’t irritate your stomach ? How far out were you when you did the lemon ? I been trying ginger tea, the peppermint one sounds good! That’s how I feel!! Even any smell makes me gag !!! 2 DanaC84 and Chrisb428 reacted to this
DanaC84 1,116 Posted February 14, 2019 I had an increased sense of smell as well. Very similar to each of my pregnancies. But I’ve not noticed it quite as bad now. (I’m a little over 3 weeks out)
Recidivist 1,141 Posted February 16, 2019 Has anyone had nausea for an extended period (like months) after surgery, or is it generally a short-term thing right after surgery?

ByPassing! 4 Posted February 22, 2019 I had gastric bypass on Jan 16 and I am still nauseous. It is getting better but it’s still there! My surgeon said it will all get better just give it time. I am praying everyday for it to all be over! 1 clsumrall reacted to this
