I'm 55 yrs old. I have been on diet after diet since I was 13 yrs old. I was 220 lbs when I got married at 20 yrs old. 35 yrs later before I had this surgery done, I was 337 lbs. I had my surgery done on the 7th of February. It's almost a week since I had it done. My emotions are everywhere. I love food so very much. It's going to be so hard that I can't eat what I want. Like, Indian, arabic, fast food, ice cream, cakes and chocolates. I have four daughter's and 5 grandchildren and a husband that depend on me to be around. I'm really glad that I got This done. I know it will take time to get where I want to be, I just have to be patient and confident. This forum helps a lot.

your diet will be pretty restricted for the first few months, but you'll eventually be able to eat a lot of that stuff again - you'll just have to monitor how much, and how often, or the weight will come back. I can eat pretty much anything now (3.5 years out) and have been able to for awhile, but if I eat too much fried food or too many sweets, I'll feel like crap afterward. And that's OK - I shouldn't be eating that stuff all the time anyway - that's how I got to 373 lbs. But Indian food, Arabic food, *occasional* fast food (as long as it's not all fried stuff, which doesn't sit very well), maybe a 1/2 cup of ice cream or a sliver of cake, etc - yes, I can eat that. Just not all the time.

Catwoman has it! Indian and Arabic food can fit right in - it's healthy and delicious. And you will be able to have little bits of the other stuff going forward. We just have to make good choices and get used to having smaller portions rather than mounds of food.

I'm glad I'm going to be home in Ireland this July and August, as portion sizes are so much smaller there than in the US, LOL.

I'm 54 and I just had the sleeve done in December - 9 weeks ago. You've got this, you can do it! It won't come off overnight, but it'll come off steadily over time.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
