Where to get help

Look up therapists in your area. Also check with your surgeons office for a referral

Also look at OA. We do have a local support group here that is huge and they bring in speakers. Frequently they are speakers about mental/emotional help and dealing with food relationships. Maybe you can try that as well? My doc and RD use a woman in connection with the practice.

I would think that your surgeon's office could refer you to a therapist or have one on their staff to work with you. My surgeon's office has therapists we can call anytime for free as part of our lifetime support.

Did you like the therapist you saw prior to surgery? If so go back to see them. That is who I have seen. I too have a very emotional connection to food.
