kygirl68 58 Posted February 12, 2019 I'm a little over 4 weeks post gastric sleeve. My stomach ALWAYS feels like it is growling/gnawing/gurgling or something. I've been on omeprazole daily since surgery. Is this common? Anyone else have this? 2 NewMeDay and clsumrall reacted to this
EmilyJune 43 Posted February 12, 2019 I am 2.5 years post op and about 15 lb from surgeons goal of 180 lb but a bit from my personal goal. I have been on omeprazole daily as well and it helps with acid reflux but I have the same sounds. I call them internal farts because it's like an inside burp after I eat or drink anything its gross and embarrassing in public. I mentioned it to my surgeon last year but she never seemed concerned but it's really annoying. 2 1 kygirl68, akkays_14 and Dubai2020 reacted to this
elcee 3,341 Posted February 12, 2019 I had a very noisy stomach whilst I had my band. It used to sound as though there was an alien in there trying to get out 1 kygirl68 reacted to this

Sheribear68 3,201 Posted February 12, 2019 I am 5 days post-op and experiencing the same. My digestive tract is NOISY. I always suffered acid reflux before, but this is like the acid release with no reflux. I’m not due for my 2 week follow up til next week and I’m going to bring it up with my Doc. Usually some crampy-epigastric pain follows the worst of the growling, but I’ve taken acid reducers and they don’t seem to affect the noise. I also take 40mg pantoprazole once daily. 🤷♀️ 1 1 Dubai2020 and kygirl68 reacted to this
lori1963 14 Posted February 12, 2019 I just had the surgery done on Thursday. I'am having stomach cramps, spasms, pain and discomfort. I have been afraid to eat anything, cause of all the discomfort that I'm having. The gas pains are unbearable. It hurts so much. I have also been depressed since the surgery. My question is will all of this pass. Or is this what I have to look forward to for the rest of my life.Sent from my LG-M327 using BariatricPal mobile app 2 akkays_14 and kygirl68 reacted to this

Sent from my LG-M327 using BariatricPal mobile app Hello, yes the gas pains the first 2 weeks sucked big time. It feels like a gigantic fart you just cant relieve. I walked so much and attempted squats and it did help. Keep up on Water and laxatives to keep regular because that's one of my biggest issues is only using the bathroom once or twice a week and I am 2.5 years out. When i drink over 64 oz of water I am able to go maybe 4 times per week so it does help alot. I would stick to your diet and just force fluids and walk and walk some more because thats what helps everything regulate. Keep in mind your pain will go away and the swelling is alot right now which may be causing tons of pain and bloating as well. My depression mostly came from the massive food intake change and I had huge hunger pains after surgery and still do. Unfortunately, I told my surgeon I think she forgot to remove the hunger hormone and she laughed. Our bodies will feel the hunger hormone only if we are dehydrated early on our thirst presents as hunger I was told. I always grab water when I feel it and after 8 oz it is still there then I go for a high Protein food. I am still getting back on track from an almost year stall and creeping in bad food choices but that's how I made my choices early on. STAY POSITIVE! your body is going through a huge make over and takes time to regulate. Good luck 1 1 Dubai2020 and kygirl68 reacted to this

Boldilocks 312 Posted February 13, 2019 I'm a week out and have been getting this since right after my surgery. It feels a little higher than my belly - but that could be where the sleeve is. It kind of feels like it's where my diaphragm is. It is really noisy and is going to be embarrassing when I'm back at work. I'm wondering if it's like hunger tummy rumblng, but we're just not feeling the hunger so it seems disconnected? 1 kygirl68 reacted to this

This is my suspicion as well. I also used to suffer GERD all the time so I wonder if this is the acid now without the reflux. All I know is it causes horrible pain/spasming in my diaphragm area and it’s noticeably worse at night. Keeping my fingers crossed that when I’m back to semi-solid foods this will improve. 1 kygirl68 reacted to this
