BrighterSide 242 Posted February 9, 2019 Sleeved 21st Jan, approx 7kg down. On soft foods, getting 650-820ish calories on board. Hitting av. 68g Protein and 1.75litres Fluid a day. Walking almost every day (missed one). But of an afternoon/evening I just cannot get warm. Sat here with OH and kids in T-Shirts and I'm in a ski jacket with legs cold in jeans, feet cold in socks, and nose/fingers really cold.Do I need to worry? What should I do differently? If 'No' and 'nothing', will this go away?Sent from my ONEPLUS A3003 using Tapatalk 1 ProudGrammy reacted to this
Swanton_Bomb 522 Posted February 9, 2019 It seems to be extremely common. Some sort of metabolic or hormonal reaction. Weeks 2-6 were really bad for me, my fingers and toes would regularly be numb with cold but it has gotten better. I am 3 months out now and while I am colder than I used to be pre-surgery but it is better than those first few weeks. If it lasts it will be nice to not sweat like a pig all summer though. 6 Mountain Gal, BrighterSide, rs and 3 others reacted to this
BrighterSide 242 Posted February 9, 2019 Thank you for that! The silver lining sounds like bliss after years of balancing the bingo wings Vs boiling alive equation for work every heat wave. If it's 3-4 weeks of teeth gritting then binning that trauma as trade off I'll be fine :-)Sent from my ONEPLUS A3003 using Tapatalk 1 ProudGrammy reacted to this
GradyCat 3,695 Posted February 10, 2019 I didn't realize it at the time because the weather was cold here, but I apparently had the cold feelings too a couple of weeks post-op. They only lasted two weeks. 1 ProudGrammy reacted to this

KimTriesRNY 1,853 Posted February 10, 2019 I am always cold now. My surgeon says I lost a lot of my insulation. Not sure there is a fix. I’m over 14 months out, labs are ok. 🤷♀️ 2 ProudGrammy and Wanda247 reacted to this

Debbi Moore 38 Posted February 10, 2019 That's so weird, I didnt think about the coldness as being from the surgery. Figured it was just the weather. I had my surgery on the 31st of January. Sent from my SM-G965U using BariatricPal mobile app

I try to bring a throw to work everyday...It's a good thing to me 😁 1 ProudGrammy reacted to this

I suppose I should be glad that there's a possible end in sight? I was cold before surgery and now I'm freezing, ALL THE TIME! I walk around my house in layers, with socks and slippers. I am never without a blanket, like a toddler with a woobie. I work in my home office with a space heater and a lap blanket. I even ordered a heated mouse because my hand got so cold that I couldn't type.

I've sweated out the husband and son because I'm so cold I'll turn the heat up and still be bundled up while they're dying from the heat.

CristinHope 69 Posted February 12, 2019 Since immediately after surgery (11/6), I am cold all the time. Constantly freezing! Pre-op, I was someone who ran extremely hot and I would sweat so much, I thought I had some kind of glandular disorder. Now, I BARELY glisten with exercise! While being cold all the time is a weird feeling, I'll take it any day over constantly sweating inappropriately! 1 1 ProudGrammy and BrighterSide reacted to this
