January 2019 sleevers

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Just found this forum. So excited to have "friends" going through this with me. Was sleeved Jan. 14th, 2019. Down 22 pounds so far. (Exciting) But stalled this week. Trying not to get depressed about it. Started walking today. Hoping that will jumpstart things again. Would love advice and encouragement.

Hi everyone, I'm new to the Bariatric Pal community, but wanted to jump on this thread as I was sleeved 1/16/19 and would love to share my journey with others!

I was sleeved on 01/24/19 and I am down 17.1 pounds. I was hoping for more but I went on a cruise for two weeks less than a week after my surgery. I, for the most part, followed the doctor's instructions but did have some cheat moments. My surgeon does things differently then what I have read in this forum so I am already on solid foods. I feel no hunger-NONE-it is very strange, I only know to stop eating when I get this small jab in my chest. I have had minimal issues-mostly diarrhea-and believe it is when I have eaten too much. This has only occurred once. I am hoping that once I am back in my hometown that I be able to get on a good program. I look forward to seeing others and their progress.

Great job. What did you do when you hit a plateau? Keep up the great work.

Had my sleeve Jan 9th. Down about 35 pounds. Was nervous about my decision to get the surgery but don't regret it at all
Have already quit taking two diabetes medications and looking forward to be diabetes free.

I had mine on January 10th. I’m the worlds slowest loser...since surgery I’ve lost 18 lbs. It’s all good...as long as it keeps going in the right direction.

Has anyone started working out? My concern is I’m eating 700-800 calories but I burn around 400 working out. I’m just curious if I’m eating enough but have no idea how to eat more.

I had my surgery on 1/16 and I haven't started working out. I've only just stopped needing a nap in the day! My energy seems really slow to return, although it is getting slightly better each day. I figure I get about 600 calories a day. Other than daily chores, I have nothing left for working out. I see my nutritionist next week and am hoping to get some ideas on how to boost energy. I get my Protein and Water in, so that isn't it. My hubby keeps telling me to be patient. 🙄

I increase activity/exercise, and also increase my caloric intake for a day or two, then drop back it back down. It seems to spark my metabolism.

As you get closer to goal, it naturally slows a bit.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
