Bianca S. 195 Posted February 7, 2019 Hello I’m just playing the waiting game right now until I get the pre-op app. call (we are just waiting on my psych eval report to get to my surgeon last week but I don’t know if they have gotten it yet.) Anyways, I am use to drinking close to a gallon of Water everyday. If you were like this as well before your surgery, was it hard for you to lessen your amount of water after surgery? (I was told at my nutritionist appointment that my goal is to have 64 oz. a day which is a little for me. I’m worried I’m going to have a hard time with that. GradyCat 3,695 Posted February 7, 2019 I wasn't under the impression that we had to drink any less, but a minimum of 64 oz or more per day. So more is okay, just not WITH meals, at least 10 minutes before and 30 minutes after. 1 seaforest reacted to this
Bianca S. 195 Posted February 7, 2019 Yea maybe I’ll ask, she said that’s how much I’ll probably be able to take in for a day and I hope that’s not gonna be the case.
KimTriesRNY 1,853 Posted February 7, 2019 Yes, it will be difficult to drink a gallon of Water a day directly after a surgery that removes most of your stomach. You will be able to increase the amount you drink each day. We have many people here able to drink that and many of us that do not. 1 Bianca S. reacted to this
Danny Paul 761 Posted February 7, 2019 Right after surgery you'll find it difficult to get 64 ounces of Water. Drinking water will become a full time job. You will get back to drinking a gallon but it will take time. 1 Bianca S. reacted to this
