When I should I go back to my second job

Recommended Posts

My first job I’m taking off 2 weeks. It’s a desk job. Not very stressful although there are some trials coming up so I’ll have to be able to think clearly. My second job I work customer service at a department store doing returns mostly. My surgery is 3/12. I told them at minimum I’d be out through 4/1 but may be another 2 weeks or I could come back for half shifts with no lifting (vacuums, boxes of damages, etc). They mentioned possibly bringing me back for 4 hour shifts at the register which has minimum bending and no lifting (and I hate it) but it’s money. Right now I work m-F 9-5 at my day job then 5 hours M, W, F night and 8 hours Saturday and Sunday. Any suggestions. I don’t want to tell them I’ll be back at 2 weeks and not be able to handle it. I have my preop appointment 2/20. I can ask my dr then but trying to give them as much notice as possible.

Your biggest challenge will be drinking ALL day long plus Vitamins and Protein. It’s important to keep drinking till you get to your goal

I'll talk to my dr at chrias when I go in on 2/20 for preop. I need to get forms signed too for short term disability and FMLA. I'm a little worried about starting back at both jobs after 2 weeks. I'm worried I wont be able to make it through working from 9 am to 1030 pm 3 days a week. My second job is being very understanding. I budgeted enough in my savings to take a month to month and a half off. We will see.

You want to make sure you don't overdo it. I felt GREAT even a week post-op and felt like I could do anything, but my surgeon had to remind me that I'd just undergone a major surgery and needed to take it easy. No lifting more than 10 pounds for 4 weeks post-op, nothing too strenuous. I think your daytime office job might be okay after 2 weeks, but you're going to be pretty tired. Even sitting at a desk is different than sitting at home because you're working and your mental energy is being used. So while I know money and income is important, I would hope you make sure you don't push it too hard and take care of yourself. Good luck!

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
