lbendola2 0 Posted February 4, 2019 Do you know why lap band erosion is common. Do you know anybody who has undergone the surgery to remove it
Born in Missouri 1,264 Posted February 4, 2019 Our @Matt Z is, unfortunately, very knowledgeable about this complication. "The Band had become totally encapsulated in scar tissue, it took my surgeon and her team more than 3 times longer to remove the band than what's normal. My 3-4 hour surgery, lasted over 6 hours. Who knows what would have happened if I didn't revise. The band is gone. My insides have been rearranged. And I'm working my way down to my goal. One day at a time. lbendola2 0 Posted February 4, 2019 does anybody knows what caues lap band erosion. When they remove the band do they have to remove part of your stomach. Was this surgery even more painful than the initial band placement. How are you doing now?
elcee 3,341 Posted February 19, 2019 Sometimes it is because the band is too tight. Sometimes it may be because it has slipped. There are probably other causes but not sure what they are
Julie norton 2,850 Posted February 21, 2019 Not understanding why the lap band haters want to hang out in this forum to post total negativity. Perhaps the new surgery type would be where you want to post POSITIVE thoughts? 5 deeberry, ProudGrammy, jfc193 and 2 others reacted to this

Perhaps the new surgery type would be where you want to post POSITIVE thoughts? I never hated my band. I loved that it helped me achieve my goal weight. It was frustrating though that the marketing hype and the reality were completely different. I hated the reflux. I hated that after 6 or so years it was completely ineffective. I hated that I had to pay for a second lot of surgery when I had hoped that my band would be a permanent solution. 1 ProudGrammy reacted to this
Julie norton 2,850 Posted March 14, 2019 I bet that was difficult. Your personal story is important to you, but the many of us working the band don’t want to read negativity. From the same poster... again and again Remember the band is still the option in other countries, so I try to encourage them. The band changed my life. I adore it. 1 1 funky_monkey800 and ProudGrammy reacted to this
