I had the sleeve done on Thursday. I’ve been crying all day off and on. I have one incision that is hurting so bad. I can’t get much down because I feel so bloated and I feel as if there’s just a bulge right in the middle of my chest. Hope you’re feeling better soon!

It will get better. My first week after getting sleeved was not fun. Did they give you anything for pain? If not, you can call your surgeon's office and request it tomorrow.

I was sleeved on 1/24/19 and my emotions are all over the place. I was crying stirring my cream of wheat for no reason. I’m chalking it up to my body had a big adjustment and everything needs to realign. I end up feeling better after 15-20 mins.

I’m feeling very low. I think it’s the winter blues and all these liquids. I start purées on Wednesday. I’m scared I won’t lose weight, and wondering if I can keep my goal of working out 6 days a week. I just want to be successful and I’m fearing the unknown

I think you’ve already proven you’re committed to this process and that you’re courageous by taking the first steps to get where you need to be on your journey!! Really you should be congratulating yourself....it takes guts (literally) to go through this and boy the hormones post op are hell. After going through it myself less than two weeks ago...I can say that there are a bunch of badass folks on this forum who refuse to settle...we’re all chasing our dreams here. You just added a huge weapon to your arsenal in the battle for better health. You’re going to do great💕💕

It is so interesting to see the difference in experiences, everyone is different. Please don't let this get you down, we have all been there. This is why we are here, to share our fears, get a boost and a "Chin up girl"! The liquid stage is hard but you should be able to soon tolerate yummy things like yogurts, and pudding, Jello and pureed fruits! My saving grace////Lemon meringue yogurt with a dollop of sugar free cool whip. Protein AND DESSERT.

I know exactly how you feel - to this day, I still have regrets/doubts. What helps me personally is focusing on the victories. I think once I myself can start to see the changes, it will help even more, but acknowledging the good things which have happened since surgery definitely seems to help. Keep strong - it will get better!

What you're feeling is totally normal. Believe what others are saying that it gets better. You've just been through a major surgery and your hormones and emotions are in turmoil for a little while. When you get to soft foods it gets a little better because your brain appreciates a bigger variety of foods. It's definitely worth it and it wasn't a mistake. Hang in there!

Yes. I’m just now almost 3 weeks out and finally getting to be back to myself. We all feel this way in the beginning. Hang in there!

I feel so much better. Get out and get sunshine. Keep yourself busy. Laying around was making me so depressed. I make sure I shower and get out every day and it helps a lot

Don’t know if any of you guys are going through this but, I had surgery 1/23/2019 at first I still couldn’t believe it that I was actually going through it, I was excited and very happy and extremely motivated.... today marks 10 days I have no motivation, I have doubts, feeling like this isn’t going to work.... Iam just on Clear Liquids but eating every other hour even if it’s just broth, Popsicles,Water, feeling like Iam going explode stomach growling I feel like Iam a big blimp and this is a joke have no idea why my positive thoughts turned so negative, and very depressed
Went through same feelings...I think its depression from not being able to enjoy food. It's a sad thing from a former foodie. Watching others, and you cant. Anyhow. Pretty soon you will get through this phase and it will all be so worth it

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
