Once again, Congratulations your WLS is working. Sometimes it takes awhile for us to get used to the new way we react to food. Sometimes we want to be able to eat as we once did. Try not to think that way. Try thinking on how your total way of eating has been reset and that you now have control over what you eat. I know it's so different from what you're used to but believe me, it's so worth it to be healthy.

Isn't it amazing how little we can eat after WLS? That means the surgery worked! I think our hormones get whacked out after a major surgery like we've had so it's not really surprising that you might be depressed. I'm sure it'll pass with time. Take care.

I'm not making any assumptions but were you an emotional eater? I have found that since I am not able to eat as I used to that I am having a lot more anxiety. I realize now that I used to eat to help deal with my anxiety, now without food I am having to feel it. It's not comfortable but in a way, I feel good that I am not using food to cope right now.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
