Fun Containers to Drink Broth From?

Recommended Posts

I think I may be better at consuming only broth if it comes in a cute or handy drinkable vessel. Any one have a recommendation? There has to be a product out there....look at the water bottle industry and how it has boomed since Yeti and other companies have come along with cool Water bottles. If you know of something, let me know! A drinkable Soup might be a good idea for me too! Thanks!

Why are you putting so much effort into drinking broth?

I need to start my all-liquid diet on February 3 for 10 days. I can have broth, which will probably be one of the tastiest things I'll having during those days and of course for a few weeks after my surgery.

Ahhh. I could only have a mug or two of broth...not a steady all day drink of it. :) I could have 2-4 Protein Shakes per day with 60-100g of Protein. No carbs to speak of that were not part of the low carb drink.

It's kinda like your name. "You Gotta Just Do It" and it helps to de-prioritize it. I can say this now, cuz I'm on the other side. I did not de-prioritize and that 2 weeks was pretty icky. But if you look at it like meh...nbd. I'll drink a shake and I'm done. Next! Let's go do something else. It would have been way easier in my honest opinion. You know?

I use kids plates, bowls and cutlery. It's smaller sized which makes the portions seem more normal. And they are bright colors, cool shapes and often have characters or cartoons or cute patterns. It may seem childish but it is fun for me and often a conversation starter; most of my coworkers look forward to seeing what I'm bringing in for lunch and it motivates me to stay accountable.

I think I mentioned this on our February weight loss buddies thread. The Unjury chicken Soup flavor is basically broth but with 20g of Protein. It has no gross whey taste. It tastes much better than the broth I was drinking. I can not recommend this enough!!! It has been my life saver during the pre op diet because of the disgusting when taste so many Protein Drinks have. Go to Unjury’s website. There is a number you can call if you want an expedited order.

My box of this broth came this week. I ordered it based on your suggestion. I'll let you know what I think of it when I go on my all-liquid diet, starting Sunday. I also bought the Swanson all-natural broth. Did you try that? I heard it was one of the better tasting.

I have some Swanson and some herbox (that’s the green packets hospitals have). I haven’t been drinking any broth or eating Jello or popsicles since the first couple of days. I’ve been doing my Proteins and Water or tea.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
