Tearful mess

Recommended Posts

I'm 9 days post sleeve and not coping remotely with things going wrong. This feels like PMT on coke. I feel like I'm messing everything up, I can't think straight, I'm making my fella angry by being useless and overreacting, and I'm generally a waste of space. I ditched exercise yesterday because I couldn't find one of two things that fit I can be seen in public in, I then realised I needed to drink some Protein, which I can't do on the go, if I did I would then be out of time to go out as school pick up time, but if I didn't go out I would probably find an excuse another time, then I sobbed, then ai couldn't go because I was a sodden mess. He was actually very kind in the end. Have probably been due for this, but need it to bloody go away.

As the fat melts it seems to release emotions. Do tiny tasks that you know you can complete to build back your confidence. We have all been there and somehow made it through. Pick at least one thing you are doing right and focus on that. Two months from now you will look back and appreciate how far you have come.

Good Luck

Surgery messes with our hormones and emotions, so be kind to yourself and focus on the things you're doing right. Make sure to get your liquids on daily as you don't want to get dehydrated.

When you have an operation emotions seem to be released. It's probably more common than most people realize. You're at the beginning of a wonderful journey which will lead you to better health. As with some journeys there will be bumps in the road. Once past the bumps, the road gets much smoother.

Cheers lovely people. So helps to know a cause and not feel alone I made the man take me for walkies, which here, unlike most of the country, involved blue skies, bright sunshine, and frost. More of an amble as took some snaps cos it was the golden few minutes between the sunlight hitting frosty foliage and it melting (see below). Cheered me up. Will be expecting the short fuse though. So glad I'm not at work yet.IMG_20190130_112512.jpeg IMG_20190130_112500.jpeg IMG_20190130_112400.jpeg

Emotions can get the best of you for no reason! Try not to focus too much on the negative and reel in the positive in every situation so it helps keep your emotions in check. I know the feeling, I cried at work yesterday because somebody said something that was incorrect situationally. I like broke down and thought they were trying to get me in trouble, and maybe they were but my boss was like.. stop crying LOL.. this is not a big deal and if they dont like xyz oh well! LOL.. and today, i went to help somebody.. and i couldnt because her passwords werent working correctly, i asked her to reach out to the IT guy next to her but that girl turned around and said in spanish. which i understand.. I just love the help i get!!! Are you kidding me???? So i went back and instead of snapping her head.. i did a Mufasa Breath LOL.. then went and asked the IT guy to help her. Why couldnt she just ask him LOL.. Oh well~

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
