LoveFood 5 Posted January 30, 2019 Today I'm 2 weeks post op. I lost 15 lbs my first week and I've lost zero lbs this week!! I've read a bunch of posts on here about having stalls, but this early?? It's so disheartening. I've been on nothing but liquids, then purees for the last 3 days so why aren't I losing weight? Nothing for an entire week! Ughhh. It really makes me have buyer's remorse. I know, (hope), it will get better and I'll hopefully lose, but right now I just want to hear some people say they went through the same thing early on and it turned out okay. Thanks for reading! Lolo 2020 236 Posted January 30, 2019 Yes there is the 2-3 week stall, don’t worry , the scale will drop big very soon. It still is not very cooperative I’ve found - I will work out , drink liquids and nada. My nut says that when I lose weight the fat cells fill with Water for a time a she said use cucumber water to flush out cells .. like a natural diuretic. But at the start ur body is super confused so don’t fret - it doesn’t know if it’s in a famine or what . 2-Liter 364 Posted January 30, 2019 Stalls come and go you will see the scale drop again soon. Our Biggest enemy is Defeat because that's when we go back to old Habits that caused us needing the Surgery in the first place. I feel the same way. I had my surgery on 2/20. That morning I was 272. I came home from the hospital at 279 from the fluids. Today, 19 days post-op, I'm 259. BUT according to my weight loss clinic I'm sure they'll go by the 272 so they'll only see a 17 pound loss in 3 weeks (I have my first post-op appt. this week). 259 is an increase from 2 days ago by the way! How can I gain when I've literally had 500 calories or less a day?! I too feel deflated and like I could eat pizza and chips and at least justify a gain! Can you tell me more about cucumber water? Should I include 1/2 cucumber in 4 cups of water? I am in a stall now looking for anything to help me break it! Thanks! Lolo 2020 236 Posted March 11, 2019 I have been doing 1/2 a lemon in 12 oz of Water every night 30 min after after my meals . 1/2 a cucumber in 4 cups should be fine . Unfortunately, things have not gotten any better. Tomorrow I will 8 weeks out and aside from the initial 15lbs in the 1st week, I've only lost about 5 lbs, which to me is total BS! Lolo 2020 236 Posted March 12, 2019 You should talk to your surgeon and nutritionist. There is just no way you can not lose weigh! Are you eating under 800 calories and 50 g of carbs? Are you getting 60-80 g of Protein a day and 64 oz of Water? Are you exercising 30 min a day? Are you limiting sugar and not drinking and eating at the same time? Are you eating protein first? I would be amazed if you did all of the above and did not lose.
