I had my surgery on 12/7. I feel really great. I’m working out on a regular basis. As of today, I’m down 43Lbs. My issue is I’m hungry more than I thought I’d be. Obviously it doesn’t take much to fill me up; but it worries me to be hungry so often. Has anyone else experienced this?

Intense work outs *may* boost your need for caloric intake which *may* prompt a response from your body to want more calories...

I think regular cardio and strength training is great - training for a marathon will boost hunger. In my view . I still use thebshakes to get the Protein first thing in the am and if I do the hunger is much less -

I use my Fitbit app and log all my liquids . I also do at least one but often 2 Protein Shakes a day . I will Thin then down to get more liquid in . I drink out of a swell bottle and know how much I am drinking . I’ve got to be diligent !

I had my surgery on 12/10 and some days I can eat every 2 hours and some days it's hard to even have one normal meal. I found it best just to get in a routine. For me, I wake up and go for a mile and a half walk. Then an hour or two later i'll try to have a meal (1.5 ounces or less still for me). I just try to eat 3 meals a day, mostly chicken or for a snack i'll have some cheese. So far it's worked well for me I'm down over 70 pounds.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
