I'm craving either plain ol chocolate or salty pretzels. Nuts help with the pretzel craving but haven't figured out how to deal with the chocolate craving yet!

Make sugar free hot cocoa: 1 cup milk (fairlife to get more protien), 1TBL unsweetened cocoa, 1 packet sugar substitute of choice, a drop of vanilla, and a teeny tiny bit of salt. Made with fairlife milk: 92 cal, 14g Protein, 9g carbs, 1g fat

I'm craving veggies. I don't have enough room to get my protein and eat many veggies. I used to have a big ol' veg stir fry for dinner and salad for lunch on most days and I miss both.

Don't eat processed meats like lunch meat. Full of nitrates that cause cancer

I'm about 7 months out. I haven't picked up cocoa roasted almonds but I got some chocolate PB2 and I've been enjoying that on rice cakes.

For a sweet fix, I am enjoying the chocolate oikos with a Tbsp of PB2 mixed in.

I still just want a freaking SALAD!!!!!!!!!!!!! Crunchy, savory, yummy salad!

Other than a tootsie pop at a basketball game, I have not had a sweet since prior to pre-op diet. Oddly, I crave salty/spicy almost entirely. Tried to eat pho....epic fail. couldn't get much at all down the hatch!

I did cave and do Chinese....I made 4 meals out of it MINUS the rice.

I am eating and enjoying salads now with ZERO trouble. I can only eat a few bites because I want my Protein, but it's better than nada! I've also added in berries, which is just exciting beyond compare for me!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
