insta_adventurer 1,046 Posted January 29, 2019 I’d guess you’ll likely need a my least a month off. I work a desk job and was out for two weeks. However, I wasn’t allowed to life anything over 15lbs for like a month to 6 weeks. It will also depend on your age/overall health. Best thing would be to ask your team when they think you’ll be cleared for regular duty!
KimTriesRNY 1,853 Posted January 29, 2019 I’m going to guess six weeks. I was on lifting restriction for six weeks and had to take a full six weeks off before I could return. My job keeps me on my feet caring for patients doing 12 hour shifts. Take as long as you can afford/benefits allow is my advice.
GizzlyKitten 32 Posted February 1, 2019 Follow the docs recommendation and restrictions, and talk to your HR so they can set up a light duty reasonable accommodation if they have a program in place.
