kims3bois 0 Posted January 28, 2019 My husband has been eating low carb and high Protein to loose weight without having to have surgery. What foods would you all suggest he eat, or what kind of low carb Snacks are good out there? 1 Frustr8 reacted to this
Hop_Scotch 1,632 Posted January 28, 2019 Welcome. How is your husband going so far? If he is losing weight already he is on the right track. Make sure he is consuming some good fats along with the higher protein/low carb diet. As for Snacks this may be useful https://www.healthline.com/nutrition/healthy-high-protein-snacks#section17 As for meals, can't go wrong with lean Protein (red meat, chicken, turkey, fish) and low carb vegies, eggs (scrambled, boiled or poached), crustless quiches, cottage cheese, small amount of nuts, small amount of good fats, greek yoghurts with higher protein or branded high protein yoghurts, high Protein Shakes, small amount of low carb fruits are useful too. You can makes Soups, stews, casseroles, etc. 1 kims3bois reacted to this

Jazzy1125 1,010 Posted January 28, 2019 There are a lot of recipes out there that can be made. I did a low carb diet prior to surgery and did fairly well.. i am actually about 18 pounds away from my lowest on my low carb diet.. then i fell off the wagon, hence the surgery. I consider the tool my wagon that makes me stay seated! 2 Orchids&Dragons and kims3bois reacted to this
kims3bois 0 Posted January 29, 2019 Thank you all for your help. He is down about 10lbs in 5 days. I am cooking a lot of Protein for him, eggs, chicken, some salmon and beef. I make him a big egg scramble or omelet every morning with zucchini, squash, broccoli, cheese and meat. Then some kind of a chef salad for lunch and veggies and meat for dinner. He has gone to the gym a few times. He is 6 foot 2 and started at 330, he is down to 320. I'm trying to cook different foods so he doesn't get bored and want to stop.
