SummerDaze 1 Posted January 27, 2019 I had my RNY on 1/7 and everything still tastes bad. I don’t know if this is normal. Some days I really have to FORCE myself to eat anything. liquid smells (dairy especially) and food scents all upset my stomach and I’m afraid that I’ll never want to eat again. Lost 40 lbs so far but idk if that’s okay with my eating habits. Anyone ever experience this?
Frustr8 7,886 Posted January 27, 2019 I still have it, find some foods that I used to love cooking repulsive. Maybe not as bad as right after surgery, but it still lurks.
GradyCat 3,695 Posted January 27, 2019 Sure, food just isn't the same after surgery as it was before surgery and some foods that we used to like we now can't tolerate. It's normal. I'm not liking food very much and even though I'm 7 weeks post-op and can have food I'm still sticking more to liquids because they're more tolerable for me and food just sounds gross. Jazzy1125 1,010 Posted January 27, 2019 I did not have the RNY, but i find that i cannot tolerate the food i used to love. I have almost reverted to tuna and salmon a lot... today i am going to make meatballs since i cannot eat more than 12 ounces of tuna a week. I cannot do chicken at all, nor pork.. Steak only and only if very thin sliced. It is a constant learning process. 1 Frustr8 reacted to this
Frustr8 7,886 Posted January 28, 2019 Made myself some cheesy potato Soup, made as low fat as possible, skim milk the whole process. 1/3 cup, will Precious Pouch stay happy and keep it down? I sure hope so, it's all pureed, no lumps, no bumps. Gonna wait 40 minutes to drink anything, we shall see how things go but I'm not nauseous, that is an improvement right there!😝🍜
catwoman7 11,220 Posted January 31, 2019 for most of us, hunger and appetite does eventually come back - and then things get a lot more challenging. Take full advantage of this period when you're indifferent to or hate food - it'll NEVER be easier to lose weight than it is right now! 1 ByPassing! reacted to this
