Swanton_Bomb 522 Posted January 30, 2019 The weird thing is, its not like you hear average weight or slim people complaining about their aching tailbones all the time. Weird. 1 Frustr8 reacted to this
MarinaGirl 609 Posted January 30, 2019 I had coccyx (tailbone) pain when I reached goal weight. I tried the special pillow but it didn’t help, so my PCP recommended I see a pain specialist. He did steroid injections under fluoroscopic guidance twice and I haven’t had pain since then. Note that I’ve been below goal weight for 14 months now. 1 Frustr8 reacted to this
MartyKay 2 Posted January 30, 2019 I wonder if a chiropractor might help. I know that when I am out of alignment, my lower back and hip bones hurt. The weight loss could have caused you to misalign somewhere
Frustr8 7,886 Posted January 30, 2019 Well subluxation is a possibility , I know your center of balance changes, without the abdominal fat pad to pull things forward, the plump rump to sit on, the spine could whine a bit. Probably a very good idea one of my ortho s is a D.O. I like him a lot also. You know when I was younger MDs constantly put DOs down, called them close to quacks, well in my medical stable I have 4 DOs and have found them to be exceptionally patient-centered people my Ortho(male) and my otolaryngolist(female) are married and are now blessed with a couple of the cutest kids you could see. I take a little credit for them, I kept telling Dr Jarrod and Dr Suzie they would make wonderful parents, and then after 3 years a daughter and son came along. Suspect they were working behind the scenes on it anyway.
catwoman7 11,221 Posted January 31, 2019 it's very common. I used a coccyx pillow for a long time in my office and in my car, I'm retired now, but I still have the one in my car. It's gotten better, but I still can't sit for more than like an hour 1 Frustr8 reacted to this

I’ve never not had a butt in my whole life...it has gotten better but it does hurt if I sit for too long. For about a month now when I lie in bed on my side I have to arrange my legs so my knees aren't together, otherwise they feel all boney and uncomfortable. I never knew I had padding there before!
