Hello everyone, been a while but I have a question, now that I've reached my goals and then some I noticed for the past few weeks my tailbone hurts when I sit down or driving. I know I lost all cushion on lower back end but theirs no fat so when I sit down its uncomfortable and painful anyone out there as experienced this situation also? Going to buy a tailbone cushion to sit on because ita a little too much.

I am not at goal and almost 3 months post op, but i was actually talking to my best friend about this last night on the phone. When driving, i am noticing i am tending to sit on the right side.. and its starting to get uncomfortable to drive.. as it hurts and the upper leg is starting to get the nummies while driving. Its only beginning so i dont know what it is, but if i sit too long now.. i have to get up and walk for about 10 min and then go back to what i was doing. I found it wierd, and not sure where the nummies are coming from, but starting to drive me crazy.

Yes can drive you crazy, I was reading some articles on rapid weight loss and tailbone problems, we not the only ones, lol but it is a problem that may have to be discussed with gastric bypass surgery not everyone who has this problem don't discuss it with their doctors, which they should.

OMG, I thought I was nuts! I am only about halfway to goal, but I noticed tailbone pain once I had lost 30lbs. or so and now that I am 59lbs. down it is worse. It isn't unbearable, more of a stiffness and soreness, but I knew it had to have something to do with the loss of padding.

I have added 2 cushions to the chair I sit in while watching TV and had to get one of those silicone honey-comb cushions for my seat at work. Princess and the Pea, anyone?

I use the recumbent bike at the gym to loosen up my arthritic right hip and have started having pain in my tailbone. I was thinking I may need to get a pad for the seat.

I am not experiencing pain but I can definitely feel it more than ever before. I am careful when I roll over while in bed so I don't hurt it. What really bothers me is laying in bed and when I move over the excess skin on my butt rolls over on top of itself and it feels like I am laying on a 2x4 or something.

My knees have become knobbly. For about a month now when I lie in bed on my side I have to arrange my legs so my knees aren't together, otherwise they feel all boney and uncomfortable. I never knew I had padding there before!

Oh yes! I am always saying "My butt hurts!" It really does hurt! Don't even get me started on how painful taking a bath is now....no more nice long baths. My butt even hurts when riding on a fairly soft seat in the car.

A Fluid filled pillow to sit on? Maybe a thick piece of Memory Foam, I will probably be dragging something with me. like a toddler with his security blanket, move over Jimmy Jack, Grandma needs to go somewhere.

YES! I mentioned it to my urologist that I happened to be at. It is starting to hurt less. I was even sitting on an inflatable donut in the car and in a chair. I thought it was from hard poop trauma (before I started glycerin suppositories) and was embarrassed! It felt the same as the time many years ago I bruised it by falling hard. This time I didnt do anything. I did lose butt and foot fat before anything else (i'm almost 3 months in)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
