As an RN working in the "baby field" for 40 yrs, I can tell you I have seen women in their 50's give birth but they were never natural pregnancies. All at this age have been IVF (and often with donor eggs) and multiple babies! Once saw a 49 yr old have quads and they weren't too happy about it because the doctor only implanted 3 embryos. Her 39 yr old husband had no kids so she wanted him to experience fatherhood. Her kids were young adults.

Average age for menopause is around 51. However this ends, I hope you get the results you want!

I'm 53 and have a 4 year old. Yes it was a natural pregnancy, no fertility drugs or ivf. Complete surprise and I finally entered menopause 6 months ago. It was my 3rd pregnancy. My first was at age 41 aand my 2nd was age 46 and they were all natural healthy full term pregnancies.

Although I'd like to add I didn't appreciate being referred to as a geriatric pregnancy lol!!

Periods are weird after surgery. My first one after surgery was a week late. Second one was a week early. Third was well over 2 weeks late. And I used to be fairly regular. My doc says it is totally normal. In all likelihood, your hormones are just all over the place and you're not pregnant.

@lifeasfaith, so you were 49 when you had your last baby? I have seen plenty of natural pregnancies from women in their 40s, just none in their 50s. I'm not saying they don't happen, I'm just saying I've never seen one. I work in a hospital that delivers 14,000 babies per yr! I know what you mean about the "geriatric" part.. I was considered an "elderly primigravida" when I had my son, meaning I was older than 30 with my first pregnancy. I think that term may now be used for those over 35, not sure. Not very flattering for sure!

Yes! 49 when I got pregnant 50 when I delivered! And yes a geriatric pregnancy is 35+ now. I was actually thrown into medical menopause at 53. I had one ovary left and tests showed I was NOT in menopause yet. A month later my one remaining ovary twisted and ruptured and had to be surgically removed. Instant menopause although it couldn't have been far off!lol! I lost my other ovary at age 40 to the same thing.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
