LoveFood 5 Posted January 22, 2019 I'm 1 week post op and doing well. I've lost 16lbs since surgery, 30lbs total since starting the preop liquid diet. My problem right now is hunger!! I'm so hungry. I've been eating Jello, pudding, and cream Soups as allowed, but I was wondering if anyone else has transitioned to purees early as long as they tolerate it? I have a friend who had the same surgery and she started eating pureed food 5 days post op. Thoughts?
MMC8021 4 Posted January 23, 2019 At my 1 week post -op my surgeon told me that because my surgery went very well, and as long as I was getting in at least 64 oz of fluids daily he expected me to tell him I was feeling a bit hungry. He told me to add in a Greek yogurt, making sure the sugar was 12g or less and it did not have any fruit chucks. Just smooth. Hope this helps!
Sweettoothless 100 Posted January 23, 2019 You might need something more satisfying or something that "hits the spot" so look for ways to get the flavors you want. I used a dash of Frank's hot wing sauce on my plain yogurt and that really satisfied me and felt like real food. (Assuming you have no ulcers and it is just a dash of sauce.)
