Jazzy1125 1,010 Posted January 22, 2019 Quick Question... I could ask my Dr. but my next call with him isnt until end of Feb, and I do not feel this is an emergency LOL Does anybody know when they typically run labs? Is each Dr. Different? How do we know when they decide they are going to run labs and how often? LOL... I feel like i am almost at 3 months and its time for other things to happen that are different now that i am progressing along. Any thoughts appreciated. Sweettoothless 100 Posted January 22, 2019 With my new insurance they told me the run them at 6months but since I am new to their program they are running mine now (I'm not even 3 months yet) they messed up and didnt tell me 2 of them had to be fasting even though I called to double check so I had to change my appointment with them so I can go back to the lab and get the last 2 tests done (B vites I think)
FancyChristine15 810 Posted January 22, 2019 I had mine checked probably a month after surgery, then 3 months, then 6, and I'll have them checked again before my 1 year follow up.

GradyCat 3,696 Posted January 22, 2019 I haven't even thought about labs yet. I'm just 6 weeks post-op. I'd like to see any improvements in bloodwork in about 3 monthsSent from my SM-G950U using BariatricPal mobile app
Swanton_Bomb 522 Posted January 23, 2019 They told me they will do them at 6 months, but I would feel better if they did them at 3 months, I'm hoping they will honor that request. I want to see if I am doing ok on Vitamins.
kathy060464 43 Posted January 23, 2019 I had my labs done a week before my 3 month post-op appt so the Dr. would have the results. When I left that day the doctor gave me my lab orders for my 6 month appt. which I will have done a week in advance.
Ed_NW 684 Posted January 23, 2019 I just had my first post op appointment today and was told they will do blood work at 6 months, 1 year and then once yearly.
insta_adventurer 1,046 Posted January 23, 2019 I did 1month, 3months, and just had 6month labs done. I’m sure they’ll do them at 9 months, because my 6 months showed I was low on a few things.
