So I know it is recommended that you stabilize your weight after reaching goal/max loss before getting skin removed, but is it possible to do breast implants sooner? I know I am thinking pretty far ahead here because I am only about halfway to my goal weight but my breasts are so small now and they look weird and I am extremely self conscious about it. Can you get implants as soon as you reach goal?

You may want to talk it over with your plastic surgeon. ask what will give you the best results.

I'm envious of those that can afford plastics. For me it's about a good bra and Shapewear.

I'm willing to take out loans if necessary. For once in my life I want to look good. I'm older and obese for most of my life, and even though I'm not that far along I can already see a dramatic difference in my breasts and I know skin will be a huge problem for me.

Working in the medical field I can say this is true....there are surgeons that will do whatever the patient wants to get the money, and there are surgeons that will honestly advise you based upon what will give you a better result.

I hope you find a surgeon that is the latter.

From what I've read you're supposed to wait until 6 months after you've reached your goal weight and stabilized before undergoing any plastic surgery for excess skin. I don't know if this would apply to breast implants or not, but you want to be sure you're at your final weight before having anything dramatic done so it'll fit your body correctly and your body won't still be changing.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
