Will this change or is this how it will be?

I am about 4 months out - up until about a week before Christmas I was losing a pound a day - awesome right? Well then I had a stall, and now I have lost about 10 pounds in three weeks, which, believe me I am very happy about. I've lost about 92 lbs (including 25 pre surgery pounds). Should I just relax and expect this slow down or can it pick up again? Thanks!

You can likely expect the days of losing a pound a day are over now that your BMI is under 40.

If you are losing 3-4 pounds a week that’s a pretty great loss rate, and it will considerably slow down from there as you continue to lose. My last follow up at nine months my surgeon was thrilled with 29 pounds in three months.

Congratulations on your success so far!

Do not be discouraged when your loss slows, it is completely normal! Just stay on task!

So I think I should stop complaining! I'm just worried this is all a dream and I'll wake up one day and it will all go away!

I think the first one should be of "excess body weight" - right? Otherwise that would be scary!!

Wait. Are you SERIOUSLY daring to question the weight loss surgery gods by being concerned with a 10lb loss in 3 weeks????

*inserting hysterical laughter*

Listen...10lbs in 3 weeks...I hear choirs of angels singing in heavenly anthem. What do you hear?

Trust the process, your doctor/team, and your surgery. I know that comes with practice and time. I'm just encouraging you to take deep breaths, walk, drink Water (lots), walk some more, breathe some more, eat on your plan, sleep, have fun, love much and in a month or so you will be in onederland! You got this.

Your loss rate will generally decline over time as you lose weight - you simply need fewer calories to move you 200ish lb body around all day than it took when you were 300ish lb. There are also some Water weight effects that happen early on, in the first couple of weeks that skew the impressions as well. If you are losing 10+ lb per month at this point, 35-40lb from your goal, you are doing great. Within a couple of months, you will likely be worrying about overshooting the mark and losing too much - cross that bridge when you get there!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
