For me as a gastric sleever I'm supposed to get 60 g of Protein a day but it's okay to get more and you can't get too much. I also have to take Vitamin D, Calcium, a Multivitamin, and Vitamin B12 as chewables each day.

Isn't it true to more Protein you get the quicker you will heal? That should make everyone want to keep the totals high.

I had the sleeve. My goals are to get a minimum 60 grams of Protein and 60 Fluid ounces a day. For Vitamins I take 3 calcium/vitamin D chews during the day, one multivitamin with Iron at bedtime (Procare Health). I also take 10mg of Biotin at bedtime and a high dose B12 twice a week. Sorry I cant remember the dose of the B12.

Hope that helps.

For sure! I have Bypass and use BariatricPal Multivitamin ONE "1 per Day!" Bariatric Multivitamin Capsule with 45mg Iron. Ask your surgeon but you should be fine with a capsule. I was taking them the week after surgery without any issues. All surgeons allow Bypass patients to take capsules 30 days post op.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
