Michie_be_me 28 Posted January 14, 2019 I am almost 5 months out and I just began this week eating sunflower seeds that are still in the shell. I have been trying to only eat the seed, but am worried that some of the shell may have been ingested. I am now feeling anxious that I may have somehow done damage to my pouch. Any information on this topic would be greatly appreciated. Also, is there a way to know if you have damaged your sleeve in any way? I am just concerned how easy is it to damage the sleeve with what you eat. Trying very hard to eat right, but I do sometimes fall backward and eat things I feel are not the best for my new diet. Thank you in advance for all feedback. 1 1 GreenTealael and Frustr8 reacted to this
elcee 3,341 Posted January 14, 2019 After 5 months you should be completely healed and the likelihood of damaging it with food like that would be the same as damaging your stomach preop 2 sillykitty and James Marusek reacted to this
James Marusek 5,244 Posted January 14, 2019 You learn by experimenting. At 5 months out, as elcee has said your stomach has healed. If you try something and you have a bad reaction, then avoid that food in the future. 1 sillykitty reacted to this
GreenTealael 25,430 Posted January 14, 2019 Try pre shelled seeds instead, I know it doesn't satisfy the oral fixation the same way, but it will put your mind at ease to know there is no possibility of swallowing shells accidentally. Safe Journey 🎈
