Anyone used LasikPlus?

My husband is on his LASIK kick again (he has wanted it for a long time, but the degree to which he pursues it comes and goes). He has a consultation tomorrow at LasikPlus. Wondering if anyone out there has used them...?

I think the number of procedures places like this can do is great, builds famiilarity with the equipment, etc. -- but I'm hesitant to put trust into any medical-related (chain) company that puts its product "on sale." I mean - it's my husband's vision, not a sweater.

Wheetsin-- I haven't heard of LasikPlus so I can't offer an opinion of that specific place. But... I did have Lasik surgery done in 2001 by an individual opthamologist here that is still advertising every week in our local paper. Prices have come down alot from the $2000 per eye!! that I had to pay I'm sure.

All I wanted to say to you is that I have NEVER been sorry that I did it. The surgery is very quick and recovery pretty easy. I loved giving up those glasses/contacts that I had had since age 13.

I tell anyone that asks that it was a great investment. Having said that though, I would really research who does it and make sure your husband is comfortable with them and confident of their expertise. Can't put a price on your eyes!!

P. S. The ONLY negative I can think of is that suddenly you need glasses to see up close if you're 40+. But that's inevitable anyway....Lasik just speeds up the process.

I had it 10 years ago but not with that facilty. One eye is still 20/20 while the other is useless. My eye doc is having a bad time getting me a prescription now that my eyes have been altered but she promised to keep trying till we find one that works.

I had lasik many years ago and am still 20/20. I need weak reading glasses, but I see much better than I ever did with glasses. Don't worry about advertisement specials. The doc's constantly need new patients to operate on- because it works and the old customers don't need them other than for an ordinary check up!

I had the original RK surgery done in 94. I was really a "coke botle bottom lens" and wentto 20/20 Now I wear either reading glasses(or contacts that are so light they are like reading glasses)--but hey-I'm 52!

Being "blind" is really frustrating--glasses/ccontacts get so much in the way and rules what you can or cant do.

In my mind--it's kinda like the fat--no one else knows what you are feeling-unless you've been there.

Just make sure it is a reputable/experienced doc and it really is a type of life changing proceedure

Mary
