Doc S 0 Posted January 9, 2019 I got a fill yesterday- liquids for 24 hours. Can’t hold them down. I’ve felt this way and pushed through it once and it “fixed itself” after a few days and I lost a lot of weight. However, I’ve also had to get a couple of unfills since I had a baby 15 mo ago. Just can’t seem to find the sweet spot since the baby! Frustrating! I don’t want to hear from those against lap band altogether. I’m not financially at a place to get a reversal and other surgery. I just want opinions- would you push through for a few days? If so, how many? Is there a chance I just get extremely irritated after a fill and have to have more time to heal? I don’t feel like that’s the case. Long time bander yet I still feel like a newbie.
Dancing Fool 29 Posted January 10, 2019 I'm not sure what you mean by can't hold down liquids. If you literally can't get liquids down past your band, I'd go back to the doc because you will soon become dehydrated or worse. If instead you mean liquids go down slow and taking a huge gulp would not be comfortable, I personally would not be alarmed if this was occurring the day after a fill. Either way, I would call the dr's office and describe what's going on and get their advice on whether to come back in or wait and see. 1 Julie norton reacted to this
funky_monkey800 247 Posted January 11, 2019 My doc always had me sit in the office and take some sips before leaving the office to make sure I was not too tight....I did get super tight at one point and had to have a bit removed....I gave it a week before I went in. Just because for me my band can get crazy weather, travel, stress, PMS all play a role for me... I would try some crushed ice, and broths, back to the basics. Good luck and please keep us posted!
