Picked up my BN. hewable Vitamins today and decided to test one . OMG they are gross. First there is the overpowering smell and tasteof Iron, I’m sure the last time I took something that tasted like that was when I was a kid. Then there is that horrible artificial fizzy sweetness.

The urge was to not chew properly and just swallow as quickly as possible. I’m guessing that could be an issue post op

I know what you mean, I bought three packs of them, had one and went out and bought something else! I did wonder though if I continued for a a week or so, whether they wouldn't be so bad.

So if anybody in Australia wants three packs of BN chewable vitamins and happy to pay for the postage they are yours!

So what did you end up buying instead?

I had bought as a trial the vitamin patches before I had surgery, had already used about a weeks worth, so I used them until I finished the pack.

Because the ESG is less restrictive that the surgical options I am now fine with standard Multivitamin tablets, I also supplement with a Calcium tablet that has vit d and k, plus vit d by itself as I have osteopenia and low vit d levels (which I have had for a while)

I couldn't take them either. They just made me gag trying to chew that horrid thing. And the "chocolate" flavoured one? Um, no chocolate I've ever had tasted that vile!

My surgeon said once I was on solids I could use Elevit pregnancy Vitamins but I couldn't swallow the (suppositories?) tablets. So...I was in Canada in November and bought 3 bottles of pregnancy gummies that I supplement with B12, Iron and Calcium. I'm running short now so I'll get my sister to buy me a year's worth and send them over to me.

My partner's ex-wife had RNY 6 weeks before I had mine and she loves the BN vitamins. I gave her mine, so I'll ask if she wants the ones from Tas and let you know. (She's in country WA).

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
