Abbey M. 69 Posted January 6, 2019 Ok this is not the most modest of topics but I have to ask......my surgery is tomorrow and not even joking, my period decided to start a week late (I had thought I just missed it), and it started late last night. Has anyone been on their period when having surgery? I’m totally mortified right now 😬
sideeye 1,440 Posted January 6, 2019 Yeah, they make you wear a big ol’ pad. Don’t be embarrassed - they’re about to see you entirely naked, with plenty of your blood already involved, and if they really wanted to could probably angle the camera and get a look at all of your ladybits from the inside. From their perspective, it’s like a mechanic working on a car that happens to have a small leak in the coolant line. Happens all the time, no big deal. Do NOT try and be coy and use a tampon anyway. THAT would be a health hazard to you. 8 1 FluffyChix, nenes78, AEdoesRnY and 6 others reacted to this
Abbey M. 69 Posted January 6, 2019 Good to know. So just tell them when I check in to the hospital in the morning? 6 quana711, drac2you, ProudGrammy and 3 others reacted to this

GreenTealael 25,439 Posted January 6, 2019 All of you brave and amazing women, I salute you! I, on the other hand, was ridiculous and rescheduled my surgery around my cycle... Don't be like me. 2 3 drac2you, FluffyChix, ProudGrammy and 2 others reacted to this

sideeye 1,440 Posted January 6, 2019 One surprising thing is that when you wake up, the pad may be GONE. Then again, so might your hospital-issued underwear. Really it’s best to just view yourself as a car going into the shop. You’ve selected the best mechanics, they know what they have to do, they’ve encountered almost every quirk there is to encounter, and they’re going to return your car in working order and running a hell of a lot more efficiently. 3 1 ProudGrammy, Abbey M., sillykitty and 1 other reacted to this

Swanton_Bomb 522 Posted January 6, 2019 Nothing to be embarrassed about. If a surgeon is grossed out by blood she would have to find a new job! 3 ProudGrammy, LadySin and Abbey M. reacted to this
Abbey M. 69 Posted January 6, 2019 True. I was mainly worried about the shower restrictions afterward. I went and got supplies to clean with though :/) 1 LadySin reacted to this
LadySin 404 Posted January 6, 2019 True. I was mainly worried about the shower restrictions afterward. I went and got supplies to clean with though :/)Should be safe to wash our snatches. Just don't aim for bandages. It's best to use hand held shower head. Makuahine 22 Posted January 6, 2019 Mine started the day of my surgery, Nov 5. and it ended up lasting a few extra days then normal, plus it was sooo heavy. They gave me extra pads and surgery panties and bed pads for home. However on the plus side, I completely skipped the next month... 1 Frustr8 reacted to this
