How long did your hairless actually go on for? My hair is SO think I am freaking out. I mean I can see my scalp. I already take it all.. Biotin 10000 and Viviscal. Been taking since long before the surgery.

Mine is still falling out and I'm 10 months post-op. But, I had revision surgery 8 months out, so that may have contributed to my problem.

Mine was really coming out between months 4-8 the worst. I am starting lots of new growth now and have lots of crazy baby hairs everywhere. They are really noticeable if I wear my hair in a ponytail but oh well.

I think that the Vitamins and stuff just only do so much. Some of us are just going to lose more hair than others.

It does stop so do not despair. Many of us have opted for shorter hair dos in the meantime. 😀

Well I'm 4 months now, my hair as a redhead always will be thinner than brunettes, only thong I can see, I have a new part line in my hair, but if I use mousse or gel, spike it a little, only my hairdresser has noticed a difference and she is not a Chatty Cathy. 8bstead she tells me how proud she is of me for doing WLS at my age. I was worried for a while maybe it would come back gray or white, then I realized if I have not done either at 73, I probably never will.So if I look slightly mangy, NBT anyway!

May I ask why you had to have a revision at 8 months? That seems really soon.

Much better. I'm 9 weeks post-op and I'm not hoarse at 10 am anymore or waking up with acid burning the back of my nose.

I lost about 50% of my hair 3-4 months in and it started to grow back about 9 months in. I’m approaching my 1 year anniversary and I have an interesting hairdo to say the least.

Despite lots of challenges - my bypass is the best thing I’ve done. I finally feel like I have a new lease of life. I promise you all it gets better x

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
