Vanessa thanks for the recipe I will surely try it. I am so tired today, I have slept alot that past couple of days. I have to shake this feeling since I want to return to work. I see the Dr on Thursday and will find out if he is going to let me go back to work on Monday or not.

I like the idea of having our own recipe corner here. I will have to get out some of the recipes I have gotten at the support group they have some awesome ideas. I can't wait to have refried Beans and some low fat cheese....yummy.

Lean recipe when you are able to eat solids.

The idea is to cook this very slow, keep the chicken from drying out staying moist and easy to chew and swallow.

Adjust this recipe to how many pieces of chicken breast you cook.

Crush 1 tblsp. dry rosemary, 1 tsp. fresh garlic minced or from the jar, pinch of salt and pepper (to your own taste) and rub into boneless skinless chicken breast. Sear the chicken on both sides with olive oil 30 seconds each side. (it will turn white) Transfer to a baking dish. Pour chicken broth into the bottom of the pan and cook very slowly (200-250) until done ( about an hour).

You can mince the leftover chicken and toss into a salad, or cut it into strips for a Protein item with your meal. Flavorful chicken that goes well with dark green vegetables.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
