Fill doctors in North Carolina or Va

Recommended Posts

:help: I have an appointment for my first fill with Dr. Lisa Harris at Chase Wellness & Research Center in Virginia Beach. Has anyone had a fill with her? It is 3 hrs away, does anyone know a Doctor in Eastern North Carolina that will do a fill on a person that was banded in Mexico?

I went and really liked her. She was extremely nice and we talked for a while and I did not feel rushed at all. I will probably go back to her.

I was a little nervous because she had only done 4 fills before me. She did get the fill in on the first stick. She was very nice. I felt like I had some restriction the first few days but now not so much.

Did she say how much she gave you?

I was thinking about going thru them but was wondering.I know the first amount is $299.00 Then after is $150 right? And i think I seen a $75 office visit. Do you have to pay the 150 and 75? Or is it like if you go and dont get a fill you just pay $75.

Sorry if I confused you.:)

Yes the first visit was 299 and its 150 for each visit after, unless they cannot give you a fill. Then you only have to pay 75. But...She does not do a fill under fluro. If you need to have the fluro done, I'm guessing they send you somewhere else.

No do not use Dr Harris. First fill she poked me three times before she found my port. Next fill it took her 12 times.

Now i think i have a damaged port. Dr Harris told fill center USA that she was sucessful the first poke on the first visit

and on the third try the second fill. Why would she lie.

I am suppose to have 2.8 cc's in a 4 cc band. I have not had any restriction since my first fill.

Now fill center usa reccomened a Dr in NJ so that i can get a fluro for another 300.00

Stay away from lisa harris at chase wellness center in va beach! Have your fills done with a fluro it will save you money in the long run.

I will find out more about my port on June 1st. That is the day I will have my fluro. I live in northern VA so it is the same distance for me to go to Mount Laurel NJ. Fill Centers USA helped me to find the Dr. Thomas Lee The practice name is Mount Laurel Family Practice. The Dr.

is going to meet me at a place called South Jersey Radiology for my fluro. The cost for the fluro is $300.00

If they find no damages to my port I will get an unfill to see exactly how much I have in my band and then I will

get a larger fill for another 165.00

If I have damages I will go back to Dr Rod in Mexico to have it repaired. I do not know how much that would cost.

If you do decide to go to Dr. Lisa Harris do not let her poke you more than three times.

If I could do it over I would do all of my fills with a fluro.

When is your appointment?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
