Hi Guys, I am an oversea patient who suffered from obesity, Is there any way for me to purchase the Obalon Balloons? I have already found a Doctor who has the credential and willing to place the ballon in me. if anyone has the resource of balloons, please contact email me at 50396066@qq.com . I have fellow patients who want them as bad as me too.

Have you really researched it? I’ve read a lot of negative data. https://www.webmd.com/diet/obesity/news/20180606/weight-loss-balloons-linked-to-12-deaths-fda-says

I personally rejected the idea of the balloon right away because it is temporary, is very expensive, gives minimal results and can have serious complications. Not worth the risk or expense for the minimal and temporary result. However, I would be much more concerned about a surgeon using black market balloons. If he is qualified, shouldn't he be able to get these things himself? It's hard to tell from your picture because it is just a face shot but you don't look obese, but depending on the amount of weight you need to lose I would recommend the sleeve or bypass, not the band or balloon, those are technically less invasive but people have had tremendous problems with them.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
