When can I expect weight loss?!?

I am one week post op from VSG and I have lost no weight since my surgery day. My doctor said that this is normal and it's even normal to gain some weight due to the swelling. So, my question is....WHEN will the weight loss start happening?

Any day now. Within a week the Fluid should start leaving and the weight loss will start showing up. Be prepared to get excited!

In the hospital, they pump your body with fluids. It is common to weight 10 pounds more when you leave than when you entered. You have to lose this Water weight first before you see results.

I didn't start losing until after 3 weeks and then it was really slow. by the third month something kicked in and weight started falling off. I think our bodies go into shock and need to readjust to our new eating and attitude.
