Did all of that happen during the two weeks of liquid, or were you already dieting before then. (As some of you know from my posts, I'm not dieting before liquids!) I didn’t do a diet before surgery other than the 2 week liquid pre op diet. I lost 16 pounds during that 2 weeks 1 Recidivist reacted to this

I lost 3.5 pounds for the 2 day Water only after the Liquid Protein diet. I also weighed myself today as soon as I got home from the hospital and I am only up 3 pounds after my Feb 11 surgery, but a woman who went the same day I did and was my roommate is up 12. Very interesting how we all are so different. That's very interesting, Blue. I think you are right--everyone will be different, so there's no need to compare myself to others. At the end of the day, we will all get where we want to be. 2 EmzBee and BlueIGT reacted to this

I start liquids next Monday. I am going to take "before" pictures on Sunday, and I may post them one day when there is an "after" for comparison.

EmzBee 123 Posted February 15, 2019 Hi all!So I'm on the other side! Surgery went great -- it was short and sweet, and I've had very little pain.I'm not a fan of how the morphine feels (so dopey and put of it that walking around the ward was difficult), so I've only used 2 clicks out of 100. Other than that, I've been taking whole pills for nausea/acid and liquid panadol. My lovely husband has been with me all day. I've walked around the ward half a dozen or so times... only thing I'm struggling with a little is Water.< br>Currently playing some upbeat music and taking a sip every song or so... seems to be doing the trick Sent from my CPH1719 using BariatricPal mobile app 4 1 SleevednowAK, BlueIGT, DanaC84 and 2 others reacted to this

Gotta win 4me 12 Posted February 15, 2019 Hey everyone!!!! Had the RNY on Feb. 7th and now I’m back at work(teacher). I feel normal and I don’t have any pain...I really was only in pain the day of the surgery and that’s because the wounds were fresh. Being back at work...I find that I’m thinking to much about what to eat. I had some Soup today because I can now eat soft food. So I had to chew the little ingredients that were in the soup. I could have came back sooner but I enjoyed not having to do anything for the last couple of days. I feel the restriction and I’m happy about it! 1 2Bsmaller18 reacted to this
kimberlymi 113 Posted February 15, 2019 I just had my surgery RNY, hernia repair and liver biopsy on 2/12. I was so sick they kept me in the hospital until late afternoon on 2/14. I thought after 6 months of classes, speaking to other surgery patients and others I was 200% prepared. O HELL NO I was not prepared for the nausea , vomiting and massive gas pain., than mother decided to visit on surgery day. Remember walking is going to be your best friend to move that gas out. You will be so happy when you start farting . It is so very overwhelming right now . But everything will work out. Just keep sipping Water staying hydrated that 1st week is the most important. Try hard to get in a few shakes a day and work your way up to where your weight loss team wants you.

EmzBee 123 Posted February 15, 2019 For those who are still pre-surgery (or just post) if you have google play music or potentially spotify, have a look for 'Bellaruth Naparstek--she has guided imagery and affirmations which have been proven to improve surgery outcomes. Also has a series on pain management, too. That coupled with regular, daily meditiation has made all the difference for me, I think =)Sent from my CPH1719 using BariatricPal mobile app

So glad to hear from you EmzBee, and congratulations on doing so well. It's especially good that you were able to get through the first day with almost no morphine. I'm a bit curious about the acid, because I thought we weren't supposed to have reflux after RnY. What are your issues with Water? Not getting enough water after surgery is one of my big fears. 1 EmzBee reacted to this
