Recidivist 1,141 Posted February 13, 2019 Good news! My insurance company approved the surgery on the first try! As some of you may remember, I was rather stressed out about that. 3 EmzBee, gerl86 and starr313 reacted to this

BlueIGT 84 Posted February 13, 2019 I went in on the 11th at 1pm. Surgery was 2 and half hours and I was in recovery for a couple hours. I had to have a drain put in and I'm hoping it'll come out this afternoon. I have quite a bit of pain if I don't get the meds on time. I think I'll be out tomorrow, yay, can't wait to get some real sleep. Dr's say everything went well and looks good. This was hard to text as I'm pretty loopy from the morphine. Best wishes to all the up comers and speedy recovery to those on the mend. :) 2 gerl86 and EmzBee reacted to this

Was never given any opiates and never needed them. I used neurontin and Tylenol for pain on the day of and day after surgery. I’m honestly shocked because things normally don’t go easy for me in anything. I still don’t feel hunger. I do struggle w getting fluids in because I wasn’t a drinker before. I have been getting in the minimum for this stage but need to work harder on this. I know you must so getting so excited!!! I do recommend having someone stay the whole night w you in the hospital. I know this seems obvious but some people send their family home because they think that they are just going to sleep all night. I was up constantly to pee, even though I was severely dehydrated. Dehydrated as in I’ve been a nurse for 20 years and have only seen urine that dark on dialysis patients. Every time you get up someone has to remove the squeezers on your legs and unplug the iv machine, trust me you cannot do it yourself. I would’ve hated calling the nurse every time I got up. I’m so excited for everyone! I know some have been having pain issues and I so hope it clears up for them soon. And I must say, my mood is improved. I’m just happier now. But that could be that I’m not at work 😁 2 1 gerl86, TheMarine79 and BrooklynKay reacted to this

I was not planning to have my spouse spend the night, but that gives me something to think about. Perhaps others can weigh in on that after surgery. Could you tell us more about the fact that you are having trouble with fluids? Is it uncomfortable or painful to drink, or do you just not feel like you want that much Water? Oh I have zero issues with drinking or nausea. I’m just someone who has always been chronically dehydrated. I just don’t drink like I should. I am working on it. I need about 10 more ounces today to make my goal.
