Watching the scale go up is gonna suuuuuuck

So I appear to be finishing up my super fun run with a stomach bug where I ate virtually nothing and crapped my brains out for 2.5 days. I lost over 6 pounds from dehydration. I've been able to get more fluids in today and am clearly rehydrating.

I'd been weighing myself just for "fun" and partly to keep an eye on dehydration. I always knew this wasn't real loss, but damnit, it's still gonna suck to "regain" those 6 pounds over the next day or so as I rehydrate!

HOWEVER... even before the dehydration, I'm less than 20 pounds (17, to be exact!) from my first goal of 210 pounds, which will put me in the lowest obesity class!

So really this is a true rant/rave lol.

And. It may not happen. I got gallstones when I was about 160lbs, sick as a dog. Lost 16lbs. Only put on 2 briefly, and that went real quick.

Then I got food poisoning when I was at 136lbs. Got down to 129. Had to work to get it back.

So - stick to your plan and it might, just might, stay mostly off. Cos dehydration, sure, but I bet your eating was affected too, right?

🤞🏼

Don't worry about it.

Definitely not worried, but is it too much to ask to keep my 6 pounds as a reward for all time I put in on the porcelain throne?! Lol

I lost something like 8lb with Montezuma's revenge in Nov, and it mostly stayed off. I certainly wouldn't advocate it as a weight loss plan, but it did kick-start my losses again in a serious way. Then again pretty much the only thing I WASN'T during that episode was dehydrated, my blood was 84% Gatorade by the end.

Either way, just make sure you're hydrated and healthy.

It probably won't come back, I was sick a few times and lost weight and when I was better and back to my normal routine the weight that I lost never came back

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
