I am two years out of surgery (gastric sleeve) lost about 120 pounds and reached my ideal weight for my Height. But through my weight loss journey I have developed a serious eating disorder ( bulima) which has affected my health badly, I have severe anemia that requires Iron IV/ venfer ( took about 15 treatment so far still has five to go) and a serious Vitamin B12 Deficiency that requires monthly and sometimes weekly shots.
I have never shared this with anyone, not even my doctor, I am sooo scared and worried for my family but at the same time I am absolutely terrified of being over weight again
Please advise

Oh man, you need to seek professional help. Psychologist? Therapist? Support group? Something. That is a serious disorder, keeping quiet about it is not the answer. Which would be worse, to be slightly overweight again or to be dead?

You should definitely go and get help.

There are several reasons that you need to share this with your surgeon's team:

-They've probably seen this before and can be a valuable resource (we were actually warned about this in pre-op classes)

-They track long-term post-op results in a shared database and if people don't report issues, they are underreported for the entire weight-loss community

-Whatever doctor is prescribing your Iron and other deficiencies isn't a bariatric specialist and there may be other bariatric considerations (or is it your surgeon treating the deficiencies and you just haven't told him why?)

Good luck and I hope you can find someone to help.

Ditto on getting help sooner rather than later.
This journey is so complex and can be difficult to navigate as is, getting help would definitely be a benefit . I am sure They’ve seen it all before and can help. Get help before it is further along and much harder

If you were a small child, we could take you on our lap, hug you, pat your back , cry with you but tell you everything will be better. As adults, those options are no longer open. There is nothing wrong with seeking help, we all will need it at sometimes in our life. When we are young we can talk to an older person, if you were my family member, I would advise you to seek out a Bariatric- friendly professional. Shoot, I would accompany you to the first one for moral support. The bulimia worries me, you're punishing yourself and hurting your body in the process, skewing your electrolytes, your body will only stand so much and then bad things are going to multiply. Bulemia can lead to death, and I so don't want you lost to it. I can understand the fear of gaining back but don't sacrifice your life energy to prove your point. You need friends, we can do that but online we cannot cure you. Please. start 2019 getting emotional help, okay?

Love Dove,

Please seek the help you need. I know this society hasn't told you but there are far worse things to be than overweight:

abusive (self and others), narcissistic, cruel, uncharitable, unmotivated, rudderless, vindictive, petty, indecisive, manipulative, irresponsible, selfish, even unhealthy.

And none if those have to do (specifically) with weight. It's all in the mind where we wage the greatest wars.

Safe Journey 🎈

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
