April Marie 69 Posted December 29, 2018 Hi everyone I was supposed to have surgery next Monday the 7th, but my surgeon isn't accepting my Psychiatrist clearance, so I have to make a new appointment with a new Psychiatrist, which will be on January 3rd, has anyone went thru this? I also stopped doing my liquid diet as of today Sent from my 5049Z using BariatricPal mobile app 2 ProudGrammy and FluffyChix reacted to this

raeraerae 59 Posted December 30, 2018 My surgery was also postponed - three times, actually. It sucked. I wanted to start my new life ASAP. I was so excited to do things that were challenging for me as a heavy person. I decided to start my new life regardless of my surgery date and embrace the extra time - like having extra time to study for a test. It really helped me through the anxiety and the uncertainty of having my dates rescheduled. It also helped me lose 50 pounds before surgery and get me to a lower weight on surgery day. I didn’t ignore the crappy feelings and took the small victories where I could. I don’t know if my experience will help at all but I hope this time isn’t too tough for you. Waiting is hard. But as they say, don’t quit before the miracle happens! 4 1 1 FluffyChix, Frustr8, Bari_KS and 3 others reacted to this

FluffyChix 17,415 Posted December 30, 2018 Sorry to hear this, but it's actually probably good news. Cuz your surgeon flagged a potential issue with the eval. And if it didn't fly past him, it prolly wouldn't have flown past insurance. So he's looking out for you! And as @raeraerae said in her excellent post, it gives you more time to work on you!!! The qualification time is hard, just take it one day at a time and don't quit! 2 ProudGrammy and Hop_Scotch reacted to this
drop the beat 47 Posted January 1, 2019 April...this surgery is more mental than physical. So if psych didnt pass it...accept it as a warning to your mental health. Sent from my SM-N950U using BariatricPal mobile app

Frustr8 7,886 Posted January 21, 2019 Well I keep on keeping on. But I am learning to accept my age. I'm old enough to know better Young enough not to care Experienced enough to do things right & I realize how blessed I am to have this chance at a better life. I can't stop now, I have too many nay-sayers to prove wrong at this time. But thanks for caring enough to ask!😝
