Isopure Zero Carb Protein Drink - Flavor Recommendations?

Recommended Posts

Hi all! I'm on day 3 of the pre-op diet and have to drink two bottles of Isopure on the day before surgery. Does anyone have any recommendations on flavors they like or didn't like? Thanks in advance!

I like it if it's ice cold over ice (redundant much?) and cut with Water by 50%. And my favorites are the fruit punch, green tea and the grape.

Thanks! I think I might go with fruit punch and grape.

Good to know! I might stick with fruit punch, just to be safe.

I was at costco today so I picked up the Apple Melon flavor and it's pretty good—tastes like green apple candy!

Can anyone put up a list of the pre up clear liquids.. My surgery is in may since my surgeon is so backed up in appointments. But i would like to do a clear liquid diet to see if i can loose more weight.

I don't think there is a "standard" list. I only had Clear Liquids for a couple days post of, nothing preop. Generally a bariatric clear diet would include sugar free beverages- usually non-carbonated and possibly Decaf, clear broths, and possibly sugar free gelatins. A clear diet is extremely low in calories and is usually used pre/post op as surgery prep or while early stage healing.

A full liquid diet would include a wider variety of options including Protein Drinks and smooth Soups.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
