❤ JANUARY 2019 CHALLENGE ❤

Recommended Posts

Hey there, peeps!

3. 2018 Goals:

  • Goal weight: 140 pounds (less if my body says so...130-135 would be my college weight)
  • Get back into my goal clothes. I never made it to goal with the band, but truly believe I can with the sleeve. Interestingly, I have great clothes in the mid-range/still fat (where I settled with my band), but will happily donate those clothes...when I get back in them (5-10 more pounds)...kind of addicted to clothes...love jeans...just counted, have 53 pair...WTF?! Who does that? I promise I am not a hoarder.
  • Breast reduction/lift and brachioplasty.

OK, I'm in! Posting a bit late as I've been traveling. Here's my stats:

I'm 4.5 mo postop bypass and my current weight is 235; down from 321. I'm losing more slowly now and reverting to some bad habits.

I've been doing well with my Water goals and exercise goals. My goals for this challenge are to cut out refined sugars and carbohydrates, stop snacking constantly and get back to defined Keto meals and IF.

Pic coming soon...

Proudest 2018 moment: worked really hard to lose weight over 2018. In Feb I had a bariatric appointment to discuss possible revision surgery and was 143 kilos / 315 lbs. Worked really hard even with dodgy lapband that either had no effect when too lose or terrible reflux whenever it was tightened and by October got down to 127.5 / 281 lbs for revision surgery. Every pound was hard won I tell ya. So proudest moment was when I got on plane to go to Belgium for my surgery and the seat belt fit without an extender. I was so delighted and happy! First time in decades I hadn't needed to ask for an extender.

I am in too! I wanted to post yesterday, but I had to translate kilos to lbs and I wrote it down on a paper but then I left home and forgot the paper so I am a bit late but I will post all my details from the second of January!

My photo is from the 2nd of January .
HW : 205 kilos/ 452 lbs
SW : 185 kilos/ 408 lbs
CW: 161,9 kilos/ 356,9 lbs

Goal weight for end of January 150 kilos (I wish :p) /331 lbs

Happiest moment in 2018 well it was on the 31st of December when I reached the lightest weight I was for the past at least 5 years... maybe even 10 years !
I am fitting to all my clothes in my wardrobe (including these that were not fitting me for many years) and I have to start making some of them smaller because they look so big on me.

I will go to enroll myself to the swimming pool today, would love to start swimming again, and I also started some small weight training at home.
I love seeing the weight go down almost effortlessly... last time I was around this weight was because I was going to the gym every day and I started piling them back the day I stopped it (from depression).

This is technically my 3rd day, but I will do 2 today to catch up with the rest of you peeps!!

#3 2018 Goals (doesn't matter cuz they're history) a. Not to die b. To do whatever it took to get RNY

#4 Proudest 2018 Moment: Making 1st Goal. It sounds cray to be fixated so much on a number, but it's what that number (150lbs) represented. I hadn't seen it since high school and honestly never thought I would see it again. At that weight I was able to live freely, and what I thought was a healthy lifestyle. I had very very few limits and even though I felt like I was "fat"--cuz come on...it's high school. We all thought we were fat! I didn't let my body image or weight hold me back from participating in life. So I felt like if I could hit 150lbs again, then this surgery (and I) really did "work it" to make it back.

I'm back! This was my goal #1 photo:

Oh, any today I'm back to my ticker weight. It's official. Fatsgiving/Christmas/New Year gain is gone! Wooohooo!

Hey Loves! No need to covert kilos or stones to lbs if it's a hardship (I promise I'm smart enough to know how despite my constant bewailings lol)

Use the system you are most comfortable with!

Some people punish an eye for an eye, this time it's going to be bun for a bun! (As mild a joke I could manage. I deleted several in my head. Ya'll go get me banned!)

My proudest moment in 2018 was finally seeking mental help. Everyday is a struggle, some days more than others and recovery doesn't move in a straight line. BUT I feel healthier both physically and mentally better than I ever have. I never would have been able to achieve the weight loss on my own that I have so far if I had not reached out for professional help. In fact I'd be compost (Future goals, get cremated and thrown in a garden). Instead I've got decades more SINNING to get down too! My Pride or More time. I made a pretty OK choice ;)

I had gastric bypass March 6, 2017. My starting weight was 500 lbs. Day of surgery I weighed 417. I currently weigh 344. I have gained 40lbs in 6 months. My goal for January is to stick with my diet and really watch what I eat. My goal for the year is to be 250 by December. That might sound crazy.

Getting back into the weight loss mojo can be done. Cheering you on!

# proudest 2018 moment

I am emotional posting this.

I lost my mom to cancer 2013. My surgery was 2014. She never got to see me healthy. 1st goal was to do a 5K in her memory. I turned 50 in 2018. I completed two bucket list half marathons. Race to robie creek and zeitgeist.

My proudest moment is enjoying my grandchildren and keep up with them. My mother never got to see how beautiful they are.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
